Bakers Heating and Air Conditioning has been around since 1982
Gene and Ethel Baker lived on Pine Island and started Bakers Heating and Air Conditioning in 1982. It was founded with two simple principles: Help people and provide a legacy for his family. By 1983, Gene's step son Mike Gardner moved from Kentucky to help with the growing business. Baker's quickly gained a reputation for honest and reliable service. Other members of the family became involved in the business as well.
In 2001, Mike and Eugene bought the business from their dad
At that time, their motto was "Same old values, new insight and energy". They also broadened the service area to service all of Lee County. In 2001, Eugene has left the business to pursue other interests, leaving Mike as the primary owner. His son Michael is following in his footsteps and is working to grow the company that he will one day have the honor and responsibility to run.
How We Operate
Faith is a core value of the Bakers family. We have always believed that this is God's business; we are just doing the foot work for Him. That means the customers always come first. If we make you feel like a member of our family, we have done our jobs right. Our goal is to provide prompt, efficient, and most of all, honest work for a fair price. Although our office hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, we are a 24 hour, 7 days a week business. Our answering service takes our calls after hours. We strive to provide same day service and repair of all major brands.
Bakers Heating & Air Conditioning provides service and maintenance of air conditioning equipment, free estimates for replacement of out-of-date or inoperable air conditioning equipment, duct work, along with new construction and remodels. Additionally, we both service and replace pool heat pumps.
As the 3rd generation begins to take a greater role in operating the business there are new developments, such as our pursuit of "green" solutions that are still user friendly and cost-efficient. What doesn't change is how we do business. We have earned a reputation for fair and honest business practices and we work to keep that reputation every day. This isn't just a business for us, it is our family name.
At Bakers, we proudly sell Goodman, the only air conditioning system made entirely in the USA. We are also a Ruud Pro Partner, with the ability to buy, repair and install most other brands, including but not limited to, Bryant, Carrier, Payne, Trane, American Standard, Heil, Frigidaire, Maytag, Ruud, Amana, Nordyne, Tempstar, York, and more.

Meet the team
Operations Team: These are the people who keep our company running smooth
Mike & Melanie (Owners)
Mike and Melanie met in the mid 80's. Melanie moved to Pine Island in 1979, went to Cape Coral high school, and graduated in 1983. She worked at Winn Dixie all throughout high school. They were married in 1987 and have three children, Michael, Brandon, and Elizabeth. They also have 3 grandchildren. Mike was a Pine Island firefighter and worked with his father, Gene, here at Bakers when he was off duty. He became the co-owner of Bakers in 2001 when his father retired. He is currently the primary business owner. His wife, Melanie, works as the Office Manager and handles the daily business operations.
Michael
Michael is the grandson of Gene, the originator of Bakers. He started doing Air Conditioning with Gene at 13 years old. He is now a licensed contractor in the state of Florida for HVAC. He obtained his Associate's Degree from Edison State College. Michael is married to Morgan and they have 2 beautiful children, McKenna and Michael.
Morgan
Morgan supports the office operations and will be stepping into Melanie's role as they start enjoying the years of service more. Michael and Morgan are excited for the future of Bakers and look forward to serving our customers for years to come.

Joe K
Joe was born and raised in Lee county. He has been in the industry since 2013, where he started doing maintenance & service, but now has flourished into our Service Manager position. He is a certified Mitsubishi comfort pro and has been dealing with the Rheem product since starting and now has the advanced Daikin and Goodman training to handle most things that come our way. He is happily engaged and has a happy little family and plans to grow it with Bakers. His daughter Remi is full of spunk and Joe's pride and joy. If you're into reptiles or HVAC, Joe is the man.
Trey
Trey was born and raised in Lee county and loves to fish! We are happy to have him as part of the team because he can just about do it all. You might see Trey replace a major part, install a new system, maintain your current one, or fish on your neighbor's dock after work (with permission).
Josh
Josh enjoys fishing and the outdoors. He is our primary Maintenance & Service Tech and is growing into a great tech. Josh, like most of our seasoned techs, can do most anything! He might be out to do your maintenance, replace a part, or service your "broken" system.
Jimmy
Jimmy is a welcome addition to our team. He is the brother of Melanie and has grown up and lived on Pine Island most of his life. Jimmy has been helping us with new construction, new installs, and maintenance. Jimmy is very handy and can help us out with anything we need him to. If you see him around the island say "Hey!". We are so happy to have Jimmy on our team.
